This morning, after Donovan had left for work, I was enjoying the sounds of my little girl chirping to herself in her bed, and I was able to pick out a few key phrases, one of the most prominent being, "More green stars, Daddy! More blue stars, Mommy!" over and over again! She wanted someone to come and turn on her turtle light so she could look at the stars on her ceiling!!!
The other night, before bathtime, when we changed the battery in the turtle so that the stars would actually be visible on her ceiling as opposed to just a faint and faded light, Reesey got so excited to see them she squealed with excitement! "Close the door!" she said (as she herself went to close the door in her room to keep the outside light out). The room was dark, lit only by the colours on her wall, the floor, the ceiling (as we tilted the turtle around).
"Hi stars, nice to meet you," she said, which was quickly followed up with a "want to jumpy jumpy on-a-da-stars!" Next came her serenade to her new night light...she mimics us now, which ROCKS, so she said "Twinkle twinkle little star.....ready....go for it...." and then began to SING Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!!!!
Donovan and I couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces as we were sprawled out on her floor, looking up at her watching the ceiling and singing to her stars.
Sigh. She's so precious!
Poor girl woke up today with a runny nose ("uh oh nose! Mommy make better!"), and a little cough. No fever, even though she feels warm, but she was happy to see Polar Bear on the way to Auntie Fran's this morning. When we got there, she gave me a big snotty kiss!!! lol
